Who we are:

Fluid Power Support was founded in 2000. In the last 20 years Fluid Power has grown into a state-of-the-art metal fabrication facility mastering CNC, robotic welding, laser technologies, power folding, punching, shearing, sand blasting and powder coating systems.

Job Summary:

The Laser Programmer/Nester will be responsible for programming and delivery of nested jobs to the Fabrication Department (Laser).  The Nester will be the liaison between the Production and Scheduling Department to ensure production requirements are met, and to maximize equipment and labor.  Nester will also be responsible for tracking and reporting material yield and production metrics to maximize company profits and reduce scrap/waste.

Job Duties:

  • Troubleshoot and identify machine problems.
  • Prepare jobs digitally, working in Mazak Smart Systems (helpful).
  • Be familiar with and have basic ability with 2D CAD.
  • Produce material utilization reports, to maximize yields.
  • Interpret drawings and bills of materials from the design department.
  • Reviews jobs and prioritizes work to maximize productivity.
  • Generate work orders with accurate lead times.
  • Organize parts for laser cutting to optimize the use of full sheets of steel to cut down on waste, as well as helping with programming and working closely with Engineering.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, safe, orderly fashion.
  • Adheres to safety standards at all times.
  • Always adhere to quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Experience and Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate
  • 1-3 years’ related experience preferred.
  • CNC Programming, Mazak Smart Systems and/or Radraft Nesting (Radan) helpful.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

In our facility, employees may be exposed to excessive noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, and ambient temperatures. 

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:

  • Steel toed boots/shoes.
  • Hearing protection.
